Considering attending one of our Easter services this year? Here's a little about what you can expect and some answers to frequently asked questions.
When (and how long) are your services?
On Easter we will have two services: one at 9:00 AM and another at 11:00 AM. Each service will last approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
What should I wear to church at Hope?
Whatever you feel comfortable in! Some of us will be dressed up; some will be casual. What matters most is not what we wear, but that we gather to celebrate the resurrection together.
What is the order of worship like at Hope?
We use a combination of scripture readings, historic creeds, prayers, catechism questions, and songs to help us encounter God and receive His covenant blessings through worship. We also prioritize expository preaching of the word–studying, meditating on, and learning more about the scriptures chapter by chapter.
What type of music do you use at Hope?
Our service incorporates an array of worship songs, ranging from traditional hymns to contemporary Christian music. We use a variety of instrumentation from piano and guitar to saxophone, drum, and even bassoon! We attempt to blend the best music from all time periods and styles into worship that glorifies God well and encourages congregational singing.
What do you provide for kids during your service? How are they incorporated into worship?
Our nursery will be available for ages 0-3 during both services on Easter. Children's Church (which is provided for ages 4-kindergarten) will be provided during only our 9:00 AM service. We provide Kid Sermon Notes sheets and busy bags for older children, but want them to participate directly in the service as much as they are developmentally able. We encourage parents to interact with children during the service and help them to worship alongside their parents!
What safety procedures do you have in place for children?
All our nursery and children's church volunteers are background checked and undergo training to safely care for children. We strive to provide a welcoming and safe atmosphere for our congregants of all ages. We also have a volunteer security team and a uniformed officer on site to help ensure safety. All doors are locked during our services.
Who is your pastor?
Our church is led by a pastor, elders, and deacons. We also have a number of part time staff who help keep the church running smoothly. More information about our pastor and other leadership can be found here.
